Nethy
Bridge is a small highland village with a general food store/post
office, butcher, hotels with restaurant facilities, tennis courts, golf
course and fishing on the river Spey (Abernethy Waters).
It lies on the scenic route between Boat of
Garten and
Grantown-on-Spey on the south side of the river and is known as the
"forest village". Central to it is the
"hump-back"road
bridge (Telford design) that crosses the river Nethy. Every summer pipe
bands from all over Scotland can be seen parading over the bridge to
take part in the Highland Games.
