Dell farm,
Abernethy Forest and Cairngorm Mountains from Dell of Abernethy
The Grounds of Dell of Abernethy (an
enclosed
garden of 2.5 acres)
Within
the grounds there are a variety of mature trees giving colour in the
autumn, and a stream running through down to the river Nethy, so there
are plenty of shaded areas where you can relax in a deck chair. Dell of
Abernethy is fortunate to have been the home of the head forester for
the local estate around 150 years ago, and he planted copper beach,
green beach, sycamore, oak and ash trees amongst others, all now in
their maturity. Being on the edge of the Abernethy Forest, red
squirrels and hosts of birds are resident.
